Smoked Salmon Toasts

Smoked Salmon Toasts

Whilst i understand this is not exactly a complex recipe, (its literally putting two and two together) that doesn't take away from its utter scrumptiousness! In fact, its simplicity makes it all the more enjoyable because you can whip it up in two seconds flat! I must admit, smoked salmon isn't a luxury i can usually afford on my student budget, but occasionally my cravings will get the better of me and i'll splash out. However, being home for christmas definitely has its perks in that there has been a steady stock of this delightful orange yumminess in the fridge for the whole duration of my stay. Made even better with slices of my dad's home made seedy baguette, which i can hopefully recreate when i get back to uni - his homemade loaves always seem to keep so much better than shop bought loaves - if they don' get eaten by my family on the day they're made that is. The only other things you need to make these tasty treats is a squeeze of lemon, and a pinch (or in my case a couple of pinches) of black pepper. Perfect!

If you're feeling the need for a little something extra, there are numerous things that can be added. A few of my favourites are cream cheese (classic), a drop or two of chilli oil, or some avocado, perhaps mushed up with some balsamic vinegar. These all go down a treat, but play around with the things you like and you'll be sure to end up with some very tasty toasts indeed!
